Time: 03:00 pm to 07:30 pm

Come and see a delightful array of artwork created within the Coshocton area. The pieces on display highlight the Footlight Players’ March theater production of the "Savannah Sipping Society”.

Display dates at Clary Gardens are in conjunction with the last two weekends of the production: March 9, 10, 11, and March 16, 17. All Fridays and Saturdays will take place before the play from 3:00-7:30pm. The Sunday matinee display will be available to view from 12:00-2:00pm.

Melissa Maxwell, local artist and Collective member, has worked diligently with the gardens to be able to bring this and future displays to fruition. “We’re excited to display the artworks in a new venue [Clary Gardens] and hopefully even sell a few pieces!”

Jandi Adams, Executive Director of Clary Gardens is excited about the new partnership with local artists and can’t wait for the public to view some of their pieces. "It’s easy to imagine the talent that we have here locally. The paintings invoke a feeling of down south meets warm Appalachian culture - all the feels! We hope many will come to the gardens mid-March and enjoy this impressive community display."

Local artists are invited to join the Coshocton County Artist Collective (CCAC). Meetings are held the second Wednesday of the month at 4pm, at The Frame Shop in Coshocton. Membership fee is $25 annually for adults and $12.50 for students aged 16-18.

Visitors attending the display of local artwork are encouraged to buy tickets for the theatrical comedy. Art from the CCAC can be viewed before the upcoming shows in the red Compton House (top of the drive on the right) at Clary Gardens. Come enjoy the display, meet some of the artists behind the paintings, and then journey to see the production people are having so much excitement over! Tickets for the play can be bought online at www.footlightplayers.com.

*There is no cost to attend the art display at Clary Gardens.

#11 Virtual Garden Chat

Location: ONLINE
Date: 03/15/2021
Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

It's been hard to connect with our gardening friends and family during the past few months, so we've decided to start an online virtual meet-up that we are calling, "Garden Chat".
There is no requirement to join or support anything - you do not have to be involved with Clary Gardens at all to join. (You don't even have to speak if you don't want! I'm one of those people, myself, who just like to turn on something as background noise, so no shame!)
The goals and main purposes of the Chat is:
1. Obviously, social! We are feeling a little cooped up and want to talk plants, pollinators, and garden planning! We know many people are thinking about these same topics.
2. We want to share educational opportunities with those who sign on. There have been so many conferences and webinars happening fully remote because of the pandemic, and most of them are FREE!
3. We'd like to share our plans and endeavors for Clary Gardens. We've got a lot brewing this coming year - Did you know it's our 20th anniversary?!
4. And also, we'd like to promote local growers, businesses, and opportunities to help connect people with places (and plants!)

Interested? You need not do anything but login the day/time of the event. We'll be posting a link RIGHT HERE on our website (you are in the right place - check back closer to the 15th.)

Guests are welcome to join up to 15 minutes before noon to complete a microphone/sound check with your own system(s).
The meeting will start at noon with:
(1) Welcome
(2) Introductions of those in attendance (only if you'd like to share)
(3) Brief topic/educational session
(4) Internal (Clary Gardens) and external learning opportunities
(5) an opportunity for discussing timely gardening topics/questions or if there is something relevant to share with the group.

The Garden Chat will run from 12-1pm. Future chats will be scheduled... We hope you'll join us for our inaugural Chat on Monday, March 15th!

LOGIN INFO BELOW (Posted 3/14/21):

**Please allow some flexibility with this meeting, as it's our first time using this platform! TIA**

#14 WEBINAR: How Time Outdoors Improves Our Health and Well-Being

Location: ONLINE
Date: 03/12/2024
Time: 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm

How Time Outdoors Improves Our Health and Well-Being -- FREE Online Webinar

Brought to you be AMERICA IN BLOOM

Our hunter-gatherer roots may still predispose us to feeling better outdoors. Yet, most Americans spend a mere 8% of waking hours outside. Declining outdoor time is linked to many adverse health outcomes. Yet, this trend is being creatively reversed. Activities such as outdoor worship, outdoor schools, and what is now called “Green Exercise” are just some examples. This webinar will present current research on positive health outcomes linked to outdoor time in any green environment – urban, suburban, or rural. Examples of communities motivating residents to get outside, and design trends to support outdoor activity will be provided. The webinar is presented by Cheryl Corson, Cheryl may be the only landscape architect who is also a national board-certified health and wellness coach (NBC-HWC). She has been an America in Bloom Advisor since 2019. Cheryl lives blocks from the Susquehanna River and 14 miles of rails to trails in central Pennsylvania. She tries to take her own advice about getting outside as much as possible.
